6 ideas to maximize your small outdoor space.

Emphasize the essentials.

  • Why do you use your yard?

Focus on these two questions and build your yard around the answers.


Choose appropriate plantings.

  • Use height for privacy.
  • Keep plants small (invest in dwarf cultivars!)
  • Add container plantings for less maintenance.


Add a water feature.

  • Water features are a great way to introduce a focal point.
  • Water feature add instant interest to your yard and help make it seem BIGGER.
  • Adding the element of sound adds dimension, peace and most of all tranquility.


Think Materials.

  • Don’t be afraid to use different materials.
